Abstract:
The Agricultural Region of Alberta Soil Inventory Database (AGRASID) provides detailed soil and landscape descriptions for Alberta's agricultural areas, in the format of a GIS database with polygon boundaries at scales of 1:100,000. Soils are categorized by type, texture, parent material, and land suitability (LSRS) to aid land management and regional planning. This hands-on workshop in a computer lab setting will dive into the use, interpretation and application of the Alberta Soil Information Viewer and the associated AGRASID database and is suitable for agricultural and environmental professionals, students and really anyone interested in the soils of Alberta!
